  • Performs work on various types of electronic/electrical equipment and related devices by performing the following: installing, maintaining, replacing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing. 
    • Applies technical knowledge of electronic/electrical principles, determines malfunctions, and restores malfunctioning equipment to optimum operating conditions. Equipment consists of either many different types of circuits or multiple repetition of the same type of circuit used in Fire Protection Systems, Energy Management Systems, Security, Elevators, Utility Control Systems, Electrical generator Controls, etc. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures and conducts periodic tests on electronic equipment to ensure operational readiness and reliability. PM procedures include cleaning contacts, checking loose connections, adjusting controls, etc.  Operating systems and recording operating characteristics, and making corrections to ensure that the systems perform in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. 



Must have completed a recognized Electronics Apprentice Program or have five years experience as a journeyman level Electronic Controls Technician.

  • Must have the knowledge to interpret blueprints and line diagrams and applicable codes, and the expertise in the use of multi meters and other test equipment to troubleshoot ECS components equipment.



Other Knowledge Skills & Abilities

• The work requires application of knowledge and skills in soldering reliable electrical connections
