The Near-Earth Network team is seeking a full time Facilities Specialist to perform maintenance and upkeep of two tracking stations in Florida, one at Ponce de Leon in New Smyrna Beach and the other at the Kennedy Uplink Site on the Kennedy Space Center.  This position is on NASA's Space Communications Network Services (SCNS) contract. 

  

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates facilities operations and maintenance, including buildings, grounds, antennas, HVAC, electrical power plant, vehicles, mechanical, plumbing, environmental, lighting and fire protection systems.
  • Providing preventive and corrective maintenance, including maintaining appropriate on site spare equipment related to facilities.
  • Performing facility condition assessments.
  • Evaluating facility problems and anomalies.
  • Preparing studies and reports.
  • Coordinating with engineers and architects performing facility work and advising and recommending on facility issues.
  • Evaluating project bids for cost, quality and schedule.
  • Monitoring and inspecting construction to ensure adherence to quality standards
    and project schedules; maintenance, repair, and construction work.
  • May include: system requirements development and allocation; overseeing, coordinating and conducting the planning, construction, maintenance, operation, repair, renovation, alteration, and demolition of buildings, structures, equipment, machinery, and other facilities.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in a related technical field is required. 
  • This position requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • In lieu of formal education, 8 years of related experience is allowable.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
