The Near-Earth Network team is seeking a full time Electronics Technician Maintenance Level III to perform maintenance and upkeep of two tracking stations in Florida, one at Ponce de Leon in New Smyrna Beach and the other at the Kennedy Uplink Site on the Kennedy Space Center.  This position is on NASA's Space Communications Network Services (SCNS) contract. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturer's manual or similar documents. 
    • Examples of such problem include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. 
  • Work typically requires a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits. 
  • Exercises independent judgement in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. 
  • Uses complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. 
  • Maintain backup power sources and uninteruptable power systems.
  • Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. 
  • May provide technical guidance to other workers.

Qualifications

  • Two years of technical training and 3 years of related experience
  • Four years of related experience can be substituted for 2 years of technical training
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
