The Near-Earth Network Operations team is seeking a Network Scheduling Analyst II to perform network scheduling and analysis for NASA's Ground Network (GN) and Space Network (SN).  This position is at NASA Wallops Flight Facility on the Space Communications Network Services contract.

Duties & Responsibilities

His/her duties may include:

  • Planning and scheduling of a resource or resources for an element (e.g. mission, GN or SN Scheduling, project, site, element, network, system).
  • Receiving requests for the element resources, schedules the requests using existing tools and methods, identifies conflicts, and performs conflict resolution and negotiation in a manner to optimize resource usage.
  • Coordinate and deconflict site/antenna downtime for maintenance or testing while minimizing impact to satellite operations.
  • Notifying all requesters and entities (people or systems) which manage, support or utilize the resource(s) of the schedule for use.
  • Reacting to changes and modifies resource schedules accordingly.
  • Performing analysis of new requests or resources as well as new ways of using existing resources.
  • Supporting planning and scheduling testing activities of the new resources.
  • Performing procedure development beginning with review for clarity and evolving to technical critique and writing.
  • Participating in metric gathering on the planning and scheduling processes beginning with recording data and evolving to defining and tracking metrics and determining long range planning and scheduling strategy.
  • Generate metric data in accordance with contract requirements and as requested.



  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in related field and five years of directly related experience.   
  • In lieu of formal education, eight years of directly related experience is allowable.
  • An Associates Degree may substitute for 2 years of experience).
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and Power Point a plus.
  • Must Be a U.S. Citizen
