Overview

 Provides daily leadership and management of Operations & Maintenance activities at NASA's Wallops Island Flight Facility

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Delegated authority from the Director of Operations and Maintenance to execute all O&M functions effectively and efficiently
  • Makes hiring reccomendations for positions within O&M
  • Provides dismissal and advancement recommendations to the PM for OMLO personnel
  • Responsible for provision of O&M services to meet WICC II contract requirements
  • Administers Snow and Ice Removal Plans
  • Direct Oversight of the Electric Shop
  • Direct Oversight of the Automotive & Mechanical Shop
  • Direct Oversight of the HVAC Shop
  • Oversees Grounds Maintenance Services performed by Subcontractors
  • Oversees Custodial and Solid Waste Services performed by Subcontractors
  • Oversees Grounds Pest & Animal Control Services performed by Subcontractors
  • Customer Service and Work Control
  • Provides Support for Range and Mission Launch events
  • Oversees Emergency Preparedness and Responds as needed for emergency events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree or the equivalent in training or experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience or extensive knowledge in facility operations or maintenance. 
  • Proven managerial/supervisory experience with demonstrated team-builder and problem solver abilities in related technical fields.
  • Experience with employees working under Collective Bargaining Agreements preferred.
