Overview

LJT & Associates, Inc. provides a wide range of engineering and advanced technical and program management solutions to our U.S. Government customers.  We are a certified small business with expertise in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of a variety of engineering and hardware integration solutions. We are searching for a candidate to provide expertise in support of one our primary customers at Hill AFB, UT. Direct support under Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge in the following areas of security system administration. General system administration, Software management and configuration, Patch management, Security and auditing, Kernel configuration and management, File system management and configuration, Software installation, configuration, and management, partitioning, HP Service Guard and Perl scripting.
  • Knowledge with the communications interfaces between HP-UX, Solaris, Linux and AIX servers and the communications infrastructure (firewalls, routers, etc.).
  • General Oracle knowledge in configuring and managing HP-UX, Solaris, Linux and AIX servers to support large databases and applications.
  • Knowledge of other UNIX systems such as Solaris, Linux, AIX, etc. Versions: Latest.
  • Perform Alternate Information Assurance Officer duties for HP-UX, Solaris, Linux and AIX midtier systems.
  • Provide support for UNIX security error diagnosis, testing strategies, and resolution of problems. Enterprise level server HP-UX, AIX, Solaris and Linux environment.
  • Provide implementation of DISA security requirements (STIG) and Unix Security Readiness Review (SRR)

Qualifications

  • The candidate must have experience in installation and management of applications in Unix/Sun/Linux/AIX environments. Must be able to apply in depth knowledge of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Information Guidelines (STIG) to install, configure/setup Unix/Linux environments under mandatory security requirements.
  • The candidate must possess experiences in working with full lifecycle Information Technology projects, as well as a proficiency in the environments of J2EE, EJB, Sun Solaris, IBM WebSphere, Oracle, DB/2, Hibernate, JMS/MQ Series, Web Service, SOAP, and XML.
  • Minimum of 5 years as Unix/Solaris administrator on large scale, multi-user enterprise systems.
  • General experience includes operations experience on a large-scale computer system or a multi-server local area network, broad knowledge and experience with system technologies (including networking concepts, hardware, and software), and the capability to determine system and network and application performance capabilities.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline is required. This position requires a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years experience, of which at least three years must be specialized experience in administrating Unix-based systems, SAN and Oracle configuration knowledge with security administration skills

Other Knowledge Skills & Abilities

- Proven experience and expertise in setup and configuration Unix/Linux servers.
- Web and Database experience is a plus (Apache, Tomcat, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with little supervision and oversight.
- Demonstrated excellent analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-resolving skills.
- Strong oral and written communications skills and the ability to present technical ideas.
- Experience with security monitoring tools and host intrustion detection (ex. Retina, McAfee EPO/HBSS) a plus.
- Develop systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
- In-depth knowledge/experience with Formula, IBM Tivoli Monitors, NetCool
- In-depth knowledge of SAN storage in high availability clusters, NFS and NAS filesystems.
- DISA specific security implementation.
- CompTia Security+ certification required.
- CISSP certification preferred.
- CE certification recommended - HP Certified System Administrator (CSA), Red Hat Certified, or Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris 10 (SCSA)
- Should be familiar with Vulnerability Management System (VMS)
and POA&Ms.
- Should be familiar with DoD IA regulations and requirements
- US Citizenship required.
- A full background investigation will be required.
