We are seeking a qualified candidate to support our Range Operations Contract at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island VA.
Perform support activities associated with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems
• Perform Role of Back-up to the Directorate Computer Security Engineer (DCSE) • Understand FISMA and the application, documentation and assessment of NIST 800-53 security controls • Assist with all facets of the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process as it relates to FISMA and NIST in a NASA mission focused environment. To include documentation, data collection and entry within a centralized repository and plan of action coordination and tracking. • Perform support activities associated with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems • Perform systems requirements development and allocation and develop the appropriate engineering documentation • Specialization areas of networks and telecommunications, LAN/WAN administration, cybersecurity, intra-computer communications, network design and support, network and system management/administration • Sustain and maintain numerous Range legacy systems • Stay abreast of all appropriate and related NIST Special Publications and NASA security documentation and associated updates. • Assist with the updates and maintenance of all security related information/documentation in the Agency NASA System Security Plan Repository • Update and maintain the IT Security inventory • Support engineering and sustaining engineering projects as IT Security representative • Assist in the development and maintenance of Range system security documentation in support of annual assessments or changes due to engineering projects • Conduct annual Incident Response Plan training and exercises • Update and obtain annual commitment to the “Rules of Behavior” • Implement the Wallops Range Local Operating Procedures • Conduct annual vulnerability scans • Administer Windows and Linux servers • Administer the new security stack to include Active Directory by managing policies and accounts • Provide helpdesk support during missions • Administer the CDM servers and virtual machines • Provide system administration support including image creation and deployment through operation of devices and systems, • Install software, firmware, service packs, and patches • Troubleshoot system problems and outages • Provide incident response and management • Provide incident reporting and training • Track life-cycle of server equipment to include technology refresh and software support • Assist with preparing Statement of Works and seeking vendor input
• BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or a related technical field and 7-10 years of experience is required • AA degree may substitute for 2 years of experience • In lieu of formal education, 12 years of related experience • Systems Administrator experience in Windows/Unix/Linux environment • Strong working technical knowledge of Microsoft OS and services including Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, and Cluster Services • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Active Directory 2012/2016 administration (including GPO usage), architecture, and infrastructure (Directory Replication, Security, Schema Changes, etc.) • Knowledge of industry best practices for back-up and recovery of Active Directory and related components • Experience supporting Unix/Linux servers and configurations plus reporting and monitoring • Experience executing performance tuning activities, develop monitoring processes, and provide performance recommendations for Unix/Linux environment • Strong working knowledge of patch management and change control practices • Experience with IT asset management systems and processes • Strong knowledge of networking and networking protocols • Security management, including auditing and user access control • Experience with Information Assurance and NIST SP 800-53 to include assessments • Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience • Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare) • Flexibility and adaptability to handle competing work demands • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining IT Security procedures and engineering documentation • Must be a U.S. citizen • Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Secret security clearance. • Preferred certifications: o Microsoft: MCSA Windows Server, MCS: System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), MCSE o Linux: LPIC-1, LFCS, Linux+, or RHCSA o Networking: CCNA or CCNP o Virtualization: VMWare DCV LJT is an Equal Opportunity Employer EOE M/F/D/V
