The company has experienced significant growth and seeks qualified candidates to support our Corporate Finance Department.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    This role supports a variety of Finance and Accounting functions.  Responsible for general ledger accounting, job cost accounting, as well other administrative duties.  Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.  The Staff Accountant will work closely with Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll, and Contracts/Procurement functions, as well as directly with operations managers.  The Staff Accountant will be responsible for task oversight and guidance for AP and Payroll.

     

    • Provides professional accounting support to LJT.
    • Assists in the development of accounting systems, processes and procedures.
    • Assists in internal and external financial reporting.
    • Prepares and maintains monthly general ledger reconciliations.
    • Traces and adjusts errors and omissions in accounting data and performs analyses as needed/directed.
    • Prepares properly supported journal entries and ensures their timely approval and appropriate retention.
    • Key support for month-end and year-end closing.
    • Ensures timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, check requests, cash advances, and Travel Expense Reports via functional oversight of Accounts Payable.
    • Maintains fixed asset subsidiary ledger & records depreciation expense.
    • Supports accounts receivable and billing functions.
    • Key support for external audits.
    • Prepares and maintains 1099s & 1096s
    • Prepares and maintains required sales & use tax filings

    Qualifications

    Bachelor of Science Degree REQUIRED, preferably in Accounting/Finance/Business, and 2-4 years in General Ledger, Cost Accounting and/or or Public Accounting in a Government Contractor accounting environment.
