  • Overview

     

    LJT & Associates, Inc. provides a wide range of engineering and other support services to the U.S. Government and International customers.  This position is responsible for operation and system maintenance of the GIS system at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. Responsible for collateral duties associated with providing full-time support to NASA’s Facilities Engineering Branch at Wallops Flight Facility. 

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Administers the NASA WFF Enterprise GIS, ensuring availability, integrity, and security of the system.
    • Builds custom GIS web applications using ESRI COTS tools including Web AppBuilder Developer Edition.
    • Administers ESRI GIS Portal, curates content, and publishes maps for clients.
    • Maintains and edits data in Microsoft SQL GIS databases.
    • Creates ESRI dashboards to track assets in near real time.
    • Uses ESRI Collector application to perform mobile GIS tasks while in a connected or disconnected environment.
    • Manages ArcGIS Online content for public consumption.
    • Tests and modifies systems as necessary to meet customer requirements.
    • Maintains python scripts used to publish web services to ArcGIS Server.
    • Creates maps and performs spatial analysis duties as requested by NASA client and others.
    • Performs raster analysis utilizing ESRI Spatial and 3D Analyst extensions.
    • Prepares proposals, presentations and reports relevant to the GIS system.
    • Provides master planning services through space utilization analysis and mapping support.
    • Uses GIS to create historical assessments of real property and other data sets.
    • Provides general document support relevant to construction drawings, configuration drawings and as-builts.
    • Provides support for surveying tasks.
    • Provides individual and classroom training and technical support to users of GIS.
    • After-hours work is required to perform system updates and maintenance

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in GIS or Geography is required.
    • 5-years of comparable experience
    • Specified and working knowledge of the aforementioned software is required.
    • Must be capable of communicating clearly and distinctly verbally and in writing. 
    • Must be a citizen of the United States

    Other Knowledge Skills & Abilities

    The position will be required to maintain current knowledge of GIS technology and software. In depth knowledge ArcGIS Server 10.6.1, Portal for ArcGIS, Web AppBuilder Developer Edition, Collector, Python, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft SQL, and AutoCAD is required.

    The responsibilities associated with this position require the individual to routinely interact with levels of WICC management and NASA Offials at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, and to interact routinely and professionally with the Company’s customers, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.
