Basic Function: Provides health, safety and environmental program management and assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities: Must be a versatile, self-starting individual that works well on their own, with very little supervision, to develop/improve a behavior based environmental, safety and health programs on various contracts. Implements a system safety approach in which development, testing, flight support, ground operations, and maintenance activities are assessed for hazards. Institutes management processes for assuring personnel and property will be protected from injury or harm because of exposure to these hazards. Plans and implements an industrial safety and environmental program meeting federal, state, and contract safety requirements. Develops and provides contract specific safety and environmental training and educational materials. Evaluates subcontractor safety programs prior to conducting work on site. Evaluates work processes for hazardous operations, performs environmental and human engineering assessments and implements remedial actions; prepares reports; performs root cause analysis of accidents, mishaps and close calls.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other accredited safety certifications preferred or ability to obtain.
