    LJT & Associates, Inc. provides a wide range of engineering and other support services to the U.S. Government and International customers. We are a diverse business with expertise in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of a variety of engineering and hardware integration solutions as well as operations and maintenance support for both launch ranges and space communications tracking and network systems and base operating support. We are seeking a qualified candidate to support our Range Operations Contract at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island VA.

    Duties & Responsibilities

     

    Sustainment and maintenance of Linux system applications and managing the OS layer servers, which host the applications.
    Must be able to, but not limited to, administering system-level procedures, establishing and maintaining administrator accounts, and assigning or making available file permissions.
    Install upgrades, configure, test, maintain and support operating system and system software.
    Advises customer on system engineering and architecture goals to include requirements development and review, testing and development, and system deployment.
    Assist engineering projects with implementing and documenting the NASA ETADS system configuration and architecture prior to readiness review.
    Review performance logs and monitoring overall application systems performance.
    Perform troubleshooting of Windows, Linux, and virtualized systems as needed, leading problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
    Perform configurations and adjustments to enhance system performance.
    Perform automated and manual back-up and restorative processes.
    Create change request packages, schedule and manage deployments, and work with IT Security, engineering, and operations.
    Install and maintain anti-virus software.
    Provide vulnerability remediation at the application layer and manage OS layers.
    Install and configure two-factor authentication (2FA).
    Ensure security processes and procedures are implemented and enforced.
    Perform software and firmware upgrades, patches, and application updates to all information technology equipment, systems and applications.
    Proficient in configuration, troubleshooting, installation, operation, maintenance and system administration of Active Directory, DNS Servers and Domain Controllers.
    Able to perform contingency procedures to include data back-up and recovery procedures.
    Deploy and maintain VMWare virtualized assets across all networks.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
    • 5-8 Years working as a System Administrator in complex environments.
    • Experience with RHEL/CentOS and basic Linux applications.
    • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, traffic analysis, common protocols and network diagnostics.
    • Experience with virtualization hypervisors.
    • Development background and skillset a plus.
    • Previous experience working in a government, scientific, or other highly technical environment.
    • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong technical documentation skills.
    • Ability to interact with and present to the customer.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain detailed records.
    • Ability and willingness to work in fast-paced environment.
    • Exercise sound judgment in all areas of responsibility.
    • Proficient in the use of personal computers with experience using Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.
    • Ability to create shell programs and utility scripts.
    • Must be creative and have the ability to look at problems from multiple vantage points
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritizes workload, and successfully handles competing deadlines.
